Katrina Brown

Position: LPC, LCDC

Katrina Brown is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, who has been practicing since 2021. She graduated from Texas A&M University-Texarkana with a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Mental Health. She is also a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator. Katrina believes in meeting the client where their needs are by utilizing a person-centered approach. Her hope is to empower her clients to gain self-awareness and insight to promote positive self-growth, and achieve stronger self-acceptance, confidence, and meaningful relationships within their lives. Her main areas of focus include children, adolescents, and teenagers ranging in ages 4-17 years, utilizing various methods based on clients’ needs such as Child Centered/Directive Play Therapy techniques as well as implementing parent training and family therapy. Katrina has an extensive background working with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention-deficit/Hyperactivity-disorder. Katrina also works with adults and couples, utilizing techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and various traditional talk therapy approaches. In her spare time, Katrina enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and reading novels and comic books. She proudly describes herself as a “nerd at heart” with her interests in Marvel and Harry Potter. She enjoys how these superhero and fantasy books/movies can connect people together and have such powerful themes behind them relating to self-growth, self-love, and caring for the greater good of the world.
